1 Tim 6:17-19 NLT Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. ———18

Key Thoughts— a) All our Money & Possessions will stay behind b) Money is not bad or good... it has nor moral quality.

c) Trust in God.... not in Money

  1. Sermon - What is the Gospel

Matt 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. —-16 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”——17

Baptism and the great commission— Matt 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. —-18 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,—-19 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.—-20 Mark 16:15-16 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 15 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.—-16 Acts 2:37-39 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?”—-37

Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 38

For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

Christian Living involves three Baptisms. Baptism into Christ = repentance & faith in Jesus Christ ( New Birth ) Baptism unto Christ = Water Baptism

a) Identification with Jesus Christ b) Identification with His Body —- Local Church

What does water baptism mean, as we do it? Water Baptism is described in.... 1 Cor 12:12-13 Passion translation Just as the human body is one, though it has many parts that together form one body, so too is Christ. For by one Spirit we all were immersed and mingled into one single body. And no matter our status—whether we are Jews or non-Jews, oppressed or free—we are all privileged to drink deeply of the same Holy Spirit. Our new identification—- 2 Cor 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 1 Cor 12:28 Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. Ephesians 2:19 So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family.
