2. Sermon - Mighty God Intro: In our culture today… Christmas is about trees, decorations… families getting together… Exchanging gifts. But at its very core… Christmas is about how God became a man. Note:

• Jesus Christ… Is God in the flesh
• God became a man… So we could know what he is like
• Jesus — Express image of the father

Meaning —- When you watch the life of Jesus you know exactly what God the father is like

• Jesus emptied himself… Of his divine privileges as God And he lived life on this earth… As a man… As a prophet under the old covenant Jesus was tried, and tested in every way that we are… And yet without failure That is why the Bible says he is easily touched with the feeling of our infirmities. He knows what it’s like…

• Misunderstood Note: Last week we started a series on the prophetic names that were given 700 years before Jesus Christ was born. These names described an attribute/characteristic of what Jesus the God we serve would be like . Let’s Read again… Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.—-6 Last week —- Wonderful counsellor Today —- The Messiah would be called —- “ Mighty God “

1. This child born of a virgin… would be…. God. Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. Matt 1:21-23 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.”——21

So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: —22

“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”——23

• Jesus is God in the flesh.
• Jesus is God… With no beginning and no ending
• He is the First & the last …. alpha & Omega Jesus is God … unlimited in Power

He is the one who created the Heavens and earth
