Living contact – Lifestyle of fellowship (eg) talking, listening & obeying God’s written Word. Lk 10: 38-42 NKJ Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. vs 38 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. vs 39 But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.” vs 40 And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. vs 41 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” vs 42 Jn 15:1-9 I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. vs 1 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. vs 2 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. vs 4 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. vs 5 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. vs 6 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. vs 7
By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. vs 8 Burned out on religion Matt 11:28-30 msg "Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. vs 29 Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly." vs 30 Fellowship with God... Renew... Refresh... Revive Isa 40:29-31. NKJ He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. vs 29 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, vs 30 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. vs 31
Staying in & protecting your “fellowship with God” is the number one priority of the Christian life.
Fellowship is the door to everything God has planned for us. Deut 4:30-31 Jer 29:11-14; For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. vs 11 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.
And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. vs 13 I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will bring you back from your captivity; … vs 14
The Word of God directs us into fellowship. (eg) Fruit of the spirit & answer to prayer. The blood of Jesus is the basis of fellowship. Heb 4:16; 10:19 (amp). Our sin is remitted 2 Cor 5:17 Relationship was established when you made Jesus Lord. Eph 2:8-10,13,19 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,—-8 not of works, lest anyone should boast. —-9 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them——10
But Martha [overly occupied and too busy] was distracted with much serving; and she came up to Him and said, Lord, is it nothing to You that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me [to lend a hand and do her part along with me]!—-40 41 But the Lord replied to her by saying, Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things; 42 There is need of only one or but a few things. Mary has chosen the good portion [that which is to her advantage], which shall not be taken away from her. Intimacy with God produces supernatural strength & anointing in our lives, but no fellowship limits us to our own strength & abilities which will fail us. Isaiah 40:29-31; 2 Chron 26:5 Isa 40:29-31 He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.—-29 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall,—30 But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.—-31
Every believer must make time daily to commune with God in His word & prayer. Rearrange your schedule & activities – establish fellowship with God as highest priority We must draw near to God then He will draw near to us. Center your schedule around God and His plans, don’t try to fit God into your schedule. James 4:8
It is up to us to take advantage of the Holy Spirit’s Ministry. John 16:12-15 I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. —-12
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. —-13 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. —-14 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.—-15
First we must become conscious of the Holy Spirit living in us. Purpose to be sensitive to Him, become God inside minded.
Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?—-16 1 Cor 6:19-20 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? —19 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.——20 Eph 4:17-30
2 Cor 6:14-18; 1 Jn 4:4 Holy Spirit – will comfort you, teach you, bring us into our inheritance.
Jn 14:16-17,26; Jn 16:13; 1 Cor 1:9-12
