Book of Galatians July 30, 2025 Walking in the Spirit Galatians 5 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. —16

For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. —17 Note The flesh will pull on you… trying to dominate you

But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.—-18 3 Keys to Overcoming the Flesh Fill your heart with the word of God—— John 6:63; Ps 119:11; Ps 1:1-3 Rom 13:14 amp But clothe yourself with the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah), and make no provision for [indulging] the flesh [put a stop to thinking about the evil cravings of your physical nature] to [gratify its] desires (lusts) Maintain a Spirit filled life—- Rom 8:26 ; Eph 5:18-20; Jude 20 Supernatural relationships —- 1 Cor 12:18, 27; Ps 92:13; Eph 4:11-12 IMPORTANCE of GODLY COMPANIONS—— Prov 13:20 He who WALKS WITH wise men will be wise, But the COMPANION OF FOOLS will be destroyed. Walk = pursuing a course of life ( Amos 3:3 ; Ps 1:1 ) Prov 4:14-15 NLT Don’t do as the wicked do, and don’t follow the path of evildoers. Don’t even THINK about it; don’t go that way. TURN away and KEEP MOVING.---15 Note— If you pursue & conduct your life the way “an ungodly” person is living & conducting his life ...

you will end up with same outcome WALKING WITH means you are adhering to that persons course of life... you than become “LIKE THAT PERSON” & experience same results Prov 12:26 The righteous should choose his friends carefully, For the way of the wicked leads them astray Ps 119:63 msg I’m a FRIEND AND COMPANION of all who fear you, of those committed to living by your rules. 1 Cor 15:33 NKJ Do not be deceived: “EVIL COMPANY corrupts good habits.”

Galatians 5 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, —-19

idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, —-20

envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. If you let the flesh dominate you… Your inheritance is at risk There is conditions… To experiencing what God has for you When we are carnal… It means that we’re being ruled by our flesh To be spiritual… Means our re-created spirit has the influence in our lives

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 22 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. —-23

And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires——24

Note ️ We must recognize… Spirit, soul, and body You will have to deal with your body for the rest of your life The apostle Paul had to deal with his flesh… All his life You could live for the Lord for 50 years… If you decide to start listening to your flesh, your life will go downhill. 1 Corinthians 9:27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified. Galatians 6 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. —1 Msg translation says… Live creatively, friends. If someone falls into sin, forgivingly restore him, saving your critical comments. NLT translation says… Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. —2 For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. —3 But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. —-4 For each one shall bear his own load.—-5 Be Generous and Do Good Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches.—-6 amp translation says… Let him who receives instruction in the Word [of God] share all good things with his teacher [contributing to his support]

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. —7

For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. —-8

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. —-9

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us “do good” to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.—-10 Galatians 6 But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.—-14
