Book of Romans. Oct 22, 2025 Romans 8
Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. —-12
For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. —-13
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. —-14 Question: Led by the spirit to do what? Answer: Put to death the deeds of the body…. Crucify your flesh Freedom…
For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” —-15
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, ——16
and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.—-17
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. —-18 Christ… Our example of suffering: Heb 2:18 For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted. Heb 4:15 KJV For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we
Jesus was .... ...touched with the “feeling” of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Note--- Jesus experienced the exact same feelings… That we experience Jesus experienced “same feelings” that we face... yet he overcame...
Heb 5:7-9 who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear, —-7 though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. —8 And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him.—9 1 Peter 2:19-23 For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully. —-19 For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God. —20 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:——21 “Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”;——22 who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously.—-23
From Suffering to Glory Romans 8 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. —-18
For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. 19 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; ——20 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. —-21 For we know that the whole creation groans and labours with birth pangs together until now. 22
Not only that, but we also who have the first-fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. —23 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? —-24 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.—-25
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. —-26
Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.—-27
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. —-28
For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. —-29 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.—-30 God’s Everlasting Love What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? —-31
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? —-32
