Book of Romans. Oct 8, 2025 Romans 8 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. —1

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. Note ️ Wherever the Spirit of God is moving… There is freedom Freedom from… all forms of sin Oppression, depression Sickness and disease Redeemed ( Salvation ) = means, but Jesus purchased our freedom… with his blood. Gal 3:13-14 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), —-13 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Notice — That faith is involved in us, enjoying the freedom that Jesus Christ purchased Knowing the truth John 8:31-32 …, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. —31 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”—-32 Note ️ So God wants all of us to enjoy… And live in freedom. Freedom from the curse oppression , Depression of your mind Sickness and disease Poverty and insufficiency The word of God… Produces freedom in our lives. James 1:25 But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it. … if you look carefully… = “not a casual glance” = give the word your full “undivided” attention

NKJ says ….and continues in it….. To continue = remain, abide… Live in the truth = not just a glance = Not just casually read it… And then forget what it says Note ️ So Romans chapter 8… Speaks about freedom… from sins dominion… Satan’s dominion Speaks about living in freedom… In your heart… In your mind… In your body This means old habits will not dominate you Harmful imaginations will not dominate you and control your life Failures of the past will not dominate you Circumstances of the present will not dominate you.

Rom 8 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. amp translation …the law of our new being …. Note The way we are going to experience and enjoy freedom… Is learning to yield to the life of God that is in our recreated spirit. The reason it is called the law of the Spirit of life… A spiritual law works for anybody that is Born Again… Anywhere and all the time When you were born again… You passed from death into life Same resurrection life that came into Jesus… Entered into you when you receive Jesus Resurrection life = eternal life, Everlasting life = The law of the spirit of life = Zoe life ( same life that is in God ) You have spiritual life from God in your spirit… It’s called being born again. And that life produces freedom. This new life… Only comes through Jesus Christ All the religions of the world give us lessons But only Jesus Christ and the cross gives us eternal life Jesus Christ came to give us eternal life John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

It is that life… That came into your spirit when you were born again… That makes you free from the dominion darkness in all of its forms Eternal life is what came into your spirit when you were born again Eternal life is not what you get when you die Eternal life… Is the life of nature of God, imparted into your spirit at the new birth This was the number one goal in God‘s plan of salvation Putting his life into us The devil cannot dominate anyone who has passed from death into life The only way the devil to dominate… Is to obscure the cross… Keep someone away from truth Because once you see who you are in Christ… And what happened to you in the new birth… You will walk in freedom. In Romans chapter 8… The word spirit is used 20 times So now we will look at how to walk in freedom Walk in the spirit… let your inner man… Dominate the outward man. Remember… I am a spirit I have a soul I live in a physical body Romans 8 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, —-3 amp translation For God has done what the Law could not do, [its power] being weakened by the flesh [the entire nature of man without the Holy Spirit]. Sending His own Son in the guise of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, [God] condemned sin in the flesh [subdued, overcame, deprived it of its power over all who accept that sacrifice] Romans 8 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. —4

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. —-5

For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. —-6

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. —-7 Foundation to living life of Victory —— Renewing the mind Col 3:1-2 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. —1 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.——2 Rom 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Romans 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.—-8

But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. —-9

And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. —-10 Note ️ You could not have been, Born Again… Until you were made righteous Rom 4:25 who was delivered up because of our offences, and was raised because of our justification.

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. 11

Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. —-12

For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. —-13

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. —-14 Question: Led by the spirit to do what? Answer: Put to death the deeds of the body…. Crucify your flesh Freedom…

For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” —-15

The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, ——16

and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.—-17 Heb 2:18 For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted. Heb 5:7-9 who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear, —-7 though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. —8 And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him.—9 1 Peter 2:19-23 For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully. —-19 For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God. —20 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:——21 “Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”;——22

who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously.—-23

From Suffering to Glory Romans 8 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. —-18 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. 19 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; ——20 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. —-21 For we know that the whole creation groans and labours with birth pangs together until now. 22
