Spirit, soul, and body Man is a 3 Part being 1 Thess 5:23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is a Spirit John 4:24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” God is the Father of spirits Heb 12:9 Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? The salvation experience... John 3:3, 6 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.—-3 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.—-6

1. Identification with Adam Romans 5:12, 19 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned— 12

First man Adam ( old man ) - sin, death Second Man, Jesus ( new man ) - Life Jesus is also called the “last Adam” Paul’s letters are about 2 Adam’s 1 Cor 15:45 And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. One man - got us in this mess One man - got us out = salvation Paul refers to Adam more than any other writer in the Bible To explain how “one man” affected every man Physical death happened because of spiritual death When Adam sinned —2 deaths First - spiritual death Second-- 930 yrs later physical death 3) Man’s condition in Adam

• Adam Died spiritually = separation from God
• Spiritual death = nature of the devil
• In the kingdom of darkness God’s goal in the plan of Salvation is to reverse everything that happened because of sin 1 John 3:8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Destroy = to loosen to dissolve, Undo John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. Zoe = Life ( nature of God ) Religion gives lessons Jesus came to give life ... 2 Cor 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. —-17 Note Fallen man -- needs Life ( Zoe ) John 3:3,16-17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

• Spiritually dead , separated from Life
• Mind darkened , depression
• Body subject to sin, disease, death Curse = affected every area of man’s experience. Spiritual Emotional Physical Relationships Financial

So when you receive eternal life… The curse is reversed You also receive the right stand with God… And the curse of your life is broken… Everything that came into man’s experience because of Adams Sin Is reversed. Why is it important to understand man’s condition? Because…..It opens up our eyes to see what happened at the cross Paul’s Doctrine Paul’s System of Truth

1. What Happened from the cross to the Throne Why was the death of Jesus necessary? What happened at the cross? In the garden… Before the death of Jesus Jesus prayed… Take this cup away from me,,, if there’s any other way. Jesus was saying if there’s any other way to redeem and save mankind,,, Even though Jesus gave amazing teachings… Healed the sick,,, raised the dead,,, and did many miracles None of those things could change the condition of man The cross was the only way. Jesus said… The reason he came to this earth was to die for the sins of man. The cross was before him all the time This was his mission.

On the cross,,, Jesus took our condition So whatever man’s condition was,,,that is what Jesus became on the cross.

So when you understand man’s condition in Adam,,, Then you can understand what Jesus did for us at the Cross .
