Established in the Word

Jesus spoke about Building our lives on the Rock Luke 6:46-49 “But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say? —- vs 46 Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. —- vs 48 But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.”—— vs 49

Col 1:23 NLT But you must CONTINUE to believe this truth and “stand firmly” in it. Don’t DRIFT AWAY from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. The Good News has been preached all over the world, and I, Paul, have been appointed as God’s servant to proclaim it. Point—- Every Person must make the decision... to become established in God’s Word.... BE A DOER... not just an admirer ( hearer )

a) Born Again—- Confession of Jesus as Lord b) Buy/download Bible — Written & Audio.... Gospel of John c) Get in a Spirit Filled Church — Ps 92:13; Eph 4:11-12 d) Faithfully Attend... & looks for ways to serve.

1. Make the decision to Put God’s Written Word—-First Place in your Life

• Whatever the Bible says... regardless how you have to change

To comply... you do it.

• NEVER—- try to get God & His Word to FIT & ADJUST to YOU YOU CHANGE & ADJUST... to God’s Word
• Your Main Battle—- Un-renewed Mind Feelings, Emotions
• New Life—— Choosing to Act Upon & Speak What God Says rather than your feelings, Circumstances etc.

2 Timothy 3:15-17 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.—-15 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 16 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.—-17 Note �� The Word of God will confront “strongholds in your mind”... belief systems rooted in your thinking Choose God’s Thoughts... reject every argument... PULL DOWN every EXCUSE! 2 Cor 10:3-5 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled

• BE TRANSFORMED——-

Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

1. Become Established in What Jesus Did for You at the Cross —- Gal 3:13-14; 1 Pet 2:24 2 Cor 8:9

a) Spiritual death & sin b) Sickness & Disease c) Poverty & Financial Lack { Includes debt }

Note: NEW IDENTITY IN CHRIST——

Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

1. Become Rooted & Grounded in FAITH——- Col 2:6-7 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,

rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. Why?—— Because ——a) Impossible to Please God with Faith

b) We cannot receive anything from God without it c) We Walk by Faith
